The material used in this object is porcelain. This was once a very desired and high-priced material available only for wealthy members of society. Now it is an ordinary everyday thing, widely observed almost everywhere. The material has conquered the world and is global, it is now something common, somehow invisible as a natural background for everyday life. In my works the porcelain only forms a back-ground, the pieces individuality starts when the paint is applied. Strokes from the brush and spots make up the pattern of first spring birds eggs - like you can see in the nests of lapwings and skylarks. Objects are created from porcelain and painted with local quarternary period clay collected from the Eastern coast of the Baltic Sea (57°07'04.2"N 21°24'58.2"E) and iron oxide from the local bog springs (56°59'00.8"N 21°32'48.3"E).
